Dylan Millar
I am a bright, highly creative, talented and ambitious Chef and patisserie exponent. My passion is to continue to hone and develop my skills in every aspect of the industry I love. As a business owner and Front of house Manager for some of South Africa’s top restaurants, I have developed independence and great marketing, management and people skills. Above all though, I still value and seek the experience that can be gained from any challenge to do something new, exciting and extraordinary.
I was chosen as one of only 3 out of 50 applicants to be accepted into the Chef training course at the exclusive five star ‘De Hoek Country Hotel.’ It was in this kind of quality environment that I studied and from which I emerged as the expert exponent of all the areas of catering that I am today.
From being a consultant on retainer as front of house Manager for top restaurants like DW 11- 13 and Lupa Ostaria, to being the sole proprietor in my own business, I have always displayed resilience, flexibility and a fierce determination to ensure that every order, no matter how big or small, is carried out to perfection – and with a smile!
Personal triumphs
As The Pink Chef, sometimes in collaboration with GEM innovations I have successfully executed various corporate functions, of varying sizes and requirements and these include:
Canapés, spit Braais, floating dinners, plated gala dinners or food buffets for:
· RMB for Anneke Van Zyl for their annual spring party - 1000 people
· Nedbank 1500 corporate cupcakes and 1000 biscuits – corporate gifts
· Annual Nedbank golf challenge - 500 breakfast, Lunch and Dinner packs for Deloitte, on several occasions
· Steyn City Equation launch – assorted creative canapés
· Several gala dinners and creative canapés served for the Market theatre
